At CRL Solutions we take calls from customers from all over South Africa who have questions about printer repairs. I’m fairly sure that we’ve heard every printer repair question imaginable, from “How do I turn my new printer on?” to “How do I go about trying to change out a Drive Gear Assembly? (We don’t recommend that you try this one at home, folks!)” Here is a small collection of some of the frequently asked questions that we’ve been asked through the 25+ years we’ve been in the printer repair business.
Q: I need equipment repaired. What information do you need?
A: In order to place an equipment service request with CRL Solutions, it is helpful if you provide us with the make and model of the equipment to be serviced along with a brief description of the problem you’re encountering. In addition, we will need to have the business name, address, phone number, and contact person’s name.
Q: How much will it cost me to have my equipment repaired?
A: As all equipment makes and models are unique and present unique problems, there really is no clear answer to this question. CRL Solutions has a minimum charge of 1 hour per unit, plus parts, plus travel, which is negotiable depending on the distance involved. If you would like a more accurate estimate, when you call in an equipment service request, we will do our best to provide you with our best estimations of what it will cost to have your particular equipment repaired.
Q: How long will it take to have my printer repaired?
A: Again, this is a question with no real clear answer. Typically speaking, if no parts are involved (i.e. – cleaning or removing a paper jam), our response time is same day and you’ll have your equipment back in working condition on the same day. If parts are involved, it depends on the make and model of the equipment. Typically, we receive parts we order on the next business day but there are some exceptions for particular makes of equipment.
Q: How are your Technicians trained?
A: All equipment repair technicians employed by CRL Solutions are professionals in equipment repair. Our technicians have been vendor trained to repair a variety of different brands, makes and models of equipment.
Q: I’d like a quote for having my printers covered under a Maintenance Agreement. Can you help?
A: Absolutely. We have a variety of customers who choose to have their equipment and line equipment covered under a Maintenance Agreement, saving hundreds of rands in parts and labor cost each month. We would be happy to provide your company with a quote. Just send us an email or give us a call with your location and the makes and models of the equipment you’d like covered.
Q: Do you sell new and / or refurbished printers?
A: Yes. We are able to provide your company with new, delivered and installed units to fit all your equipment requirements, from high quality plotters to personal laser equipment. Just let us know a little bit about your intended usage and preferred make and we’ll offer you a few suggestions. Refurbished units are available from CRL Solutions for some models depending on availability.
Q: Do you sell consumables?
A: Yes. We stock some new toner cartridges for widely used printers and can order cartridges for just about any printer on the market. If you need a particular toner cartridge, please give us a call or send us an email and we’ll give you a quote!
Q: What is your service area?
A: CRL Solutions has a national footprint and service all major cities and towns. Regardless of where you are located, give us a call because we’re willing to assist!
Q: Can I bring equipment to you to have it repaired?
A: Yes. We accept walk-in equipment repair requests at our location ONLY during normal office hours. Our office hours are 8h00 – 17h00, weekdays, and 8h00 – 16h00 on Friday. Weekend SLA support is another service we also offer, so that we can make sure you can run when you need to. Give us a call regarding your problem, and often we may be able to help you with information about your equipment service request that could save you the hassle of a call-out if we are unable to repair your equipment.
Q: Can I mail equipment to you to repair?
A: Yes. CRL Solutions does do Depot Maintenance for equipment. Believe it or not, we have had printers shipped to us from as far away as Zambia, Malawi and Mozambique! Just email us for more info.
